So… to the subject of this (pretty awesome) interview:

When I first got started working online, I realised the importance of getting a mentor. More specifically, I needed to find someone who had succeeded in doing what I wanted to do.

At that time, I wanted to create my own products in a variety of niches but had no idea where to start. The cool thing about getting a (good) mentor who has already trodden that same path is just that: They’ve been there, done that and hopefully they have the bank balance to prove it.

Well Neil Asher ticked all those boxes for me. He’d created a number of businesses and used online marketing to promote them, eventually making a very large part of his very large income (he’s a multi-millionaire) from creating products in different niches and selling them online. And thanks to the list building he’s done in each of these markets, he can now make more money by providing more great products to his previous buyers.

So, I got in touch with Neil and even before I was on his coaching course as a paid up member, he helped me with some great information and guidance.

I joined his course and got great value from it. Since then, I’ve used the strategies and, more importantly, the way of thinking to make money online. I’m not a millionaire yet but I’m on the journey. Thanks to this interview, you can get an insight into what you need to do to be on the same path.

A few months back, not long after I started this blog, I was on the Warrior Forum and browsing the joint ventures part of the site.

I was looking for people who wanted to do joint ventures and also just doing some research as to how they were offering them, what they were looking for etc.

As I searched, I saw one younger marketer who was looking for contributors to his free internet marketing magazine. He was looking for people with knowledge of internet elements that could help people get started. As I know a fair bit about WordPress, YouTube and a few other technical bits and pieces, I volunteered to write for it, agreeing that I would be credited at the end of my articles with a link back to my blog.

Fast-forward a few months and this same marketer, by the name of Ashley Wright, approached me with the offer of creating a site together. We chatted further and it became clear that Ashley knew his stuff and was already successful online (by which I mean highly profitable).

Clearly, I want to associate with successful folks as part of my internet marketing adventures and so we started a joint venture, with me creating some of the content for the site, while Ashley creates the site itself. We’re still working on it, so in the meantime, I wanted to find out more about Ashley’s work online.

This is the first of a series of interviews I’ll be doing with internet marketers, finding out about them and their businesses. The questions I’ll be using are based on an awesome book called The One Minute Millionaire and will help to show us some of the mindset behind the businesses.

So, enjoy this interview with a young guy who makes a great deal of money online. Some of the points he makes about how he does things sound very simple and the truth is, they are. He’s learned a system from a mentor and as he says ‘rinsed and repeated’ that system until he reached the income he’s at now.

Having used YouTube with some success for a while now, I’ve picked up a good number of tools and tips that help videos get seen and ranked well.

Once you reach a certain point, the videos you upload can have a viral effect, where the views just keep coming. By adding a link in the video description, you can create a little flow of constant traffic to the site of your choosing.

I mentioned on way to use YouTube in my previous post (using Fiverr to get views) but I’m still testing this. The tips mentioned below are the fundamentals that have worked for me for a long time. They also work for a lot of other people on YouTube and many of those people have built businesses off the back of the knowledge I’m going to share with you here.

So, without further ado, here are my 10 top tips for video marketing using YouTube:

1. Keywords: You may have heard of the Google Keyword Tool. It’s an awesome resource for researching the words that people are typing into Google to find things in your niche. Here’s the surprising thing… YouTube has it’s own keyword tool! You can find it at https://ads.youtube.com/keyword_tool. You can use it to find out what people are searching for on YouTube and in what volumes. But it gets better… You can also use it to find all the keywords that the most successful videos are using, then use them yourself! So, go and find the top videos in your niche and run the address through YouTube’s keyword tool. Then add them to your own videos. It might just be genius!
2. Building links to your videos will help them to be ranked higher, thus getting them more views. You can do this in a number of ways, including linking to the video from a blog post (or just embedding it), or by simply linking to it from your Twitter or Facebook profile.
3. Add tags to your videos that match your chosen keywords. If you don’t have them, you can use the keyword tool above to find them. Don’t leave these out when you’re uploading. Take the time during the upload process to find the right tags for your video clip, as it will pay off in a big way once it’s live and ready to watch.

I’ve been mentioning Fiverr.com on here a fair bit recently after I discovered it about 6 weeks ago. It’s made outsourcing very approachable. Beforehand, I was concerned about needing to employ someone full time and being a little reticent to venture into outsourcing before I had several income streams set up.

I think I mentioned a few weeks back that I was on a call with my IM (internet marketing) mentor, Neil Asher. Incidentally, getting a mentor doesn’t have to be pricey – you can get on Neil’s coaching program for £4.95 (around $8) by going to this page. On that call, I mentioned Fiverr and Neil and the rest of the coaching group fell in love with it… The down side is that it will probably make us all less effective in our businesses for a few weeks as we spend some money on some of the more silly ‘gigs’ on there.

Anyway…

About two weeks after that call, I got a comment here on my blog from one of the other guys who was on that call. His name is Chris G and he had taken some of my suggestions about Fiverr and acted on them in a BIG way! Already, I was very pleased to be the person to have introduced him to the site, but even more pleased when he told me his (frankly unbelievable) results.

Hey Marketing Fans!

As many of you who read my blog will know, I’m quite a big fan of The Warrior Forum. It’s an awesome resource for internet marketers, both newbies and professionals.

A great part of the forum is the area for joint ventures. For those of you who may be new to internet marketing, joint ventures (JVs) are where two or more internet marketers work together to mutually benefit each other’s business. For example, I could send an e-mail to my mailing list promoting another marketer’s product, in exchange for him/her doing the same for me. We both gain subscribers and make sales thanks to each other’s efforts, rather than relying on search engine traffic.

I was chatting to a friend of mine who has recently set up her own fashion and beauty magazine-style blog. She mentioned that – like many people online – she wanted to spread the word about it and build the amount of visitors to her site.

As usual, this got me thinking…

She’s already got writers who are creating great original and targeted content for her. All of these great articles are going straight onto her blog for her readers. I realised that she’s not making the most of this stream of information.

You see, if you’re a blogger, the articles (or posts) that you’re creating can also be published on article directory sites. There are several top sites (which you can see below) that get massive traffic. You can also have your article re-published by other people on their blogs, thus creating a viral effect with the same article.
