Having been in internet marketing a little over 6 months now, I’ve been taking stock of where I’ve got to and learning as much as I can from the experience.

I wanted to share one particular thing with you that struck me as important. I even came up with a little name for it: ‘Magpie Syndrome’.

You see, put simply, this is the tendency that we all have (including the internet ‘gurus’) of wanting the next shiny book/course/piece of software that promises to improve our business. Of course, assuming they’re good products, then the chances are good that they will improve our business… Until we see the next shiny object and forget about the first one…

Here’s the problem: We’re all looking for ways to make money online and we want it sooner rather than later. As a result, if we’re convinced that a product will help us accomplish that, then we’ll want to buy it to get that ‘secret formula’. Marketers capitalise on this to sell you their product. However, every marketer is doing this, and so we can easily become blinded by the new information and not actually do anything with it.

Having studied many of the marketers who are wildly successful, I’ve realised that their approach is somewhat different. Read the rest of this entry »

One of the major problems people seem to come up against in Internet Marketing is getting their sales pages or videos to convert people from prospects into buyers.

As a former professional magician, I got very good at persuasion and even trained with a master salesman who was responsible for training the salespeople on the shopping channel QVC.

Thinking about this problem that marketers face, I’ve written a book on how to make more sales online using the techniques I learned and used as a professional magician.

Make money online. Sounds easy doesn’t it?

The good thing is that, generally speaking, it is pretty straightforward (notice I said straightforward, not easy!).

Anyway, last week I was browsing for some tools to make it easy for you to start making money online. I spoke to a couple of friends and one of them mentioned a project that a well-known marketer had put together.

Now, I need to make an important point here: If you’re going to climb Everest, you’re going to want to talk to someone who’s done it before. Whether or not you’ve heard of John Reese, you’re in for a treat.

This is an awesome follow-up to a video that I posted a week or so ago. In this video, self-development master Tony Robbins interviews the man who made $1million online in 18 hours, from his parent’s living room.

Many people compare him to Roger Bannister, the man who broke the four minute mile. Like Bannister, Reese did something that no one else has ever done. Since then several people have achieved the same and much much more.

I had a realisation last week that really struck me as important.

I wanted to share it with you.

I got back from a break away and with a little trepidation, switched on my laptop and opened up Outlook. I was greeted by 142 e-mails in my inbox and a further 42 in my junk mail folder (some of which were useful).

I went through them and realised that of the 184 I’d received in the 5 days I was away, most of them were as a result of being on mailing lists. Read the rest of this entry »
