How To Get More Fans on Facebook – 7 Ways To Increase Facebook Fans

get more fans on facebookAs you’ll know if you follow my blog page on Facebook, I’ve grown that page to over 3100 mostly targeted fans in order to bring me some traffic each month. I’ve actually been working on Facebook for some time but only recently have I started to ramp up the way I use it to generate leads and income, largely inspired by people like Phil Henderson.

However, I’ve now started to branch out and grow several other pages in a number of different markets in order to expand the amount of income streams I have. Using methods I’ve learned both recently and over the time it took to grow this blog, I am growing the number of fans consistently and steadily. So, if you’re looking for how to get more fans on Facebook, then you’re in the right place.

Here I’m going to show you my top 7 ways to get more fans to your Facebook page, no matter what market or niche your page is in. I’ll break down each one so you can start applying them today.

One word of caution before we get started: Choose one or two of these methods and get good at them before you start on the others, otherwise you may find them overwhelming and hard to keep track of. If these methods are new to you, take your time to understand and apply them individually before combining those that work best for you.

So, with that said, on with the show!

Method One – Make Your Fan Page Title Irresistible… Then Optimise It

One of the first keys to getting lots of fans is to come up with a title that will excite people or that they will agree with without thinking about it. When it comes to marketing online, this means that you need to find a title that has the following attributes:

  • It’s engaging and perhaps even a little outrageous or opinionated
  • It’s keyword rich (meaning that it contains your main keywords for that niche)
  • It’s specific to your market and the people you want to connect with
  • It’s funny or at least amusing (humour gets ‘likes’ like you wouldn’t believe)

I’ve added the part about humour last because it’s not essential, but it does help add an extra element of attraction to your page as people enjoy humour and will like to share that humour with the other fans as well as their friends.

In order to find a page title that checks the first three features listed above, you need to do your research.

  1. First of all, choose a market and then look within that market for a niche or even micro-niche. As an example, you could start with the lifestyle market, then look into relationships then drill down to the people looking to date a specific type of person (uniform dating, religious dating, sugar daddy dating, that kind of thing).
  2. Research that niche using tools like the Google Keyword Tool or Market Samurai. You’re looking for ‘Exact Match’ keywords that get at least 500 searches per month on Google.
  3. Choose a relatively ‘long-tail’ keyphrase (more than 4 words long) as there will be less competition for this when it comes to optimising your page (more on this later).
  4. Look at other already successful pages that exist within your niche and see what their titles are. Don’t copy them word-for-word but see if you can use the basic idea and make it better, more engaging or funnier.
  5. Take your chosen keyphrase and integrate it into your title, giving it an engaging twist. For example, if we continue with the dating example, the keyphrase might be ‘best place to find hot dates’ so the page could be called ‘Hotties of the World – The Best Place To Find Hot Dates On Facebook’ (you’ll be surprised what people will like).

Remember that there are currently over 500 million people on Facebook, so you’re bound to find something that appeals to a group of say, 25,000 (remember, this is a tiny fraction of the total people using the great book of Face).

how to get more facebook likesThe next step is to set up the page with your catchy title. If you’re still lost for a catchy title, check out the magazines or products that cater to your niche and use their catchy headlines or sub-headlines as the title for your page, ensuring that you integrate your keywords with them.

Now the goal is to get your page up to 25 fans as quickly as possible. Once you get to 25 fans, you can choose your own page address, meaning you can get facebook.com/YourKeyphrase. For example, I recently (3 days ago) set up a page for a new comedy show on the UK channel, Channel 4. My keyphrase was the show’s title and the name of the network so I got www.facebook.com/CampusChannel4.

A Short Sharp Lesson in Making Money Online

how to make money onlineI received a very sharp lesson (by which I mean, ‘metaphorical smack in the face’) recently and wanted to share it with you…

I was on the phone to a relatively new friend of mine a couple of weeks ago, and we were discussing what to sell and how to do it.

To give you a bit of background, the friend I was chatting to was Shaqir Hussyin, a marketer who comfortably makes around $35,000 every month with his online business. Yes, you read that right. That’s his monthly income.

So I figured he might know a thing or two about making money online. :)

I mentioned that it was all very well trying to sell expensive products to people as an affiliate marketer but would people really pay thousands for a product when they can get a basic version for $100 or less.

Shaq actually paused for a moment before he answered:

Man, you’ve gotta shift that belief. That’s a limiting belief you have right there. There will always be people willing to pay top-dollar for stuff.

I thought about that for a moment. Logically, I immediately knew it was true, but I realised that emotionally, I hadn’t changed the way I thought. I automatically saw lack instead of abundance. I know that I would much rather drive an Aston Martin DB9 at £130,000 ($202,485) than a Vauxhall Corsa  at £9995 ($15,568) so it stands to reason that other people must feel the same way about whatever they’re into.

This was confirmed to me again the following week when I watched an ‘over-the-shoulder’ video by Neil Asher.

In the video, Neil showed us how he researched a particular niche, firstly to see if it was profitable (i.e. people were searching in high numbers etc.) then to see if there were high-end products to sell within that market. Now of course, it may be the case that fewer people will buy if the product is expensive, but again, The First Law of Shaq states: There will always be people who want to buy expensive stuff.

So Neil took us through the cigar market and to a particular (very niche) item that people who smoke cigars want and need: A humidor. For those not in the know (like me when Neil mentioned it), a humidor is a case or cabinet where you store cigars in a constant environment, so that they don’t get very dry or too damp but stay at the optimum level for a good ol’ smoke.

Anyway, Neil showed us this and found a company that sold high-end humidors for thousand of dollars each.

And that’s when it hit me: It takes exactly the same amount of work Read the rest of this entry »

How To Make Money on Facebook with Facebook Fortunes [PODCAST]

Facebook FortunesHey! Welcome to another info-packed podcast.

I’m excited for you to hear this one. It’s a little different and it’s the interview that I feel is most aligned to what I’m doing online. Let me explain…

My interviewee on this episode is a talented young guy by the name of Glen. I say talented because as well as being able to make money using Facebook, Glen is also a musician. In fact, his first love is his music and his Facebook business is a way of funding that life and sharing his music with as many people as possible.

Pretty cool.

If you’ve read my About page, then you’ll know that I’m a magician and actor and my dream is to have an online business that allows me to be a full-time actor and perform at places like The National Theatre here in London, as well as at venues throughout the world.

So, Glen and I are from the same background (the arts), which for me makes this interview that bit more special, largely because it confirms to me that I’m on the right path and that if one person can do it and live a dream life, so can I.

Over the course of the interview we cover loads of great information that I know will help you to see how you can use this great social network, but also how to set up your business for the life you want.

Glen also mentions a shed-load of great resources that you can use, which I’ve listed below.

Free Guide: What is CPA Marketing, How Does It Work And How Can I Do It?

CPA AffiliateI was talking to a friend of mine recently about my marketing business and explaining one of the newer parts of it. I realised that I hadn’t shared this with you. As always, I want to keep you ‘in the loop’ with what I’m doing in order that you can learn from it and perhaps even be inspired to try this yourself.

What is CPA Marketing?

CPA stands for Cost Per Action and it refers to a type of marketing that usually involves you generating leads for companies and in turn, those companies giving you a small payment for each lead.

It works like this:

You generate traffic from one or more sources which you then send to an offer. The offer is usually for a free trial or free gift that the customer can get by filling out a survey or similar. In most cases, the company that has created the offer requires the customer to opt in or fill out their address before they pay you for that lead. Once they’ve done that, you get your payment. Simple!

How Much Does It Pay?

Generally, the payment for each lead tends for vary. However, you can usually expect between $1 to $6 per lead, depending on what the offer is. In very competitive markets like the insurance market, there are life cover offers that will pay you up to $22 per lead. However, as I said, these are highly competitive markets and not great if you’re only just starting out on a lower budget.

How Do I Do It?

I was introduced to CPA marketing by a friend of mine who then recommended a course by Saj P called Zero Friction Marketing. This course taught me everything I’m going to share with you here and if you can still get a copy, I’d recommend you do.

So how do you get started with CPA marketing?

Well, it happens in stages.

  1. Sign up with an affiliate network
  2. Find a method of driving targeted traffic (which I’ll show you in a moment)
  3. Get your affiliate links
  4. Drive traffic to the links

The first stage is to sign up with a CPA affiliate network. You will need Read the rest of this entry »

Socialnomics: The Epic Power of Social Media

OK, so first of all, I know it’s been a couple of weeks since I wrote on here. There’s a good reason for it.

I’ve been working on a strategy using Social Media (Facebook and YouTube mostly) to make money with affiliate marketing. I’m going to keep building this and working on it until I’ve got it cracked, then I can show you guys the results (which are already coming in). Better still, once it’s making me some good money, I can teach you how to do exactly the same thing to make money in your chosen niche. And in case you’re curious, no, I’m not targeting the ‘make money online’ market, but a little goldmine that I’ve found that very few people are exploiting.

All will be revealed soon. In the meantime, I’ve found a little gem that I wanted to share with you…

One of my first products online back in October 2009 was a guide to using Twitter to generate a following and visitors to your site. As part of the course, I shared the original version of this video with those that subscribed to my list.

The original video showed the incredible power of social media and the rise of ‘Socialnomics‘, a term coined by Erik Qualman in his new book.

This is the updated version and it shows you the amazing power that social media has. Just imagine if you could get even 0.001% of the traffic on Facebook to your website every month.

This will blow you away…

Ben Hulme’s List Profit Ninja – Why List Building As You Know It Is Dead [VIDEO REVIEW]

Ok, let me say something up front. I really like Ben Hulme and the way he works. I’m pleased to say he’s become a friend of mine since we met at Mark Anastasi’s Clickbank Masterclass a few months back. So you could accuse me of bias in this review of his latest system.

However, I don’t blog about systems that I don’t believe in.

The only way I can be ‘made’ to believe in something is to try it and do it myself. If it works for me, I’ll tell you about it. If not, I tend to just keep quiet.

Please Note: Before you carry on reading, this is NOT for total beginners. You will need to know how to put together a product and how to set up an opt-in page on your website. You can find out how to create products here and if you have an autoresponder account, then they will be able to show you how to do the opt-in form. If you don’t have an autoresponder account, I use Total Business Cart.

When I met Ben, he shared the basic idea of this system with me. It sounded fairly simple. Sure, it required work, but not a massive amount considering the returns that Ben was making. I tried it and actually made money!

http://www.adventuresininternetmarketing.net/list-ninja

I was pretty impressed and I’ve started doing this more and trying my own methods for it. But every time I try something new using this system, I see that Ben’s already done the groundwork and already tested and tried all the possible variations. Now that I have the full course, I’ve joined the dots and made it work even more effectively. But there’s more…
