Is This The Most Smug Marketing Campaign Ever? – New iPhone Ad (If You Don’t Have an iPhone…)

This is rather different from what I normally post, but I think you’ll enjoy my Apple advert parody (below the original video).

I was watching TV a few nights back and saw an advert that genuinely shocked me in its smug tone and general arrogance. I actually like the product and think it’s a brilliant step forward in many ways. In fact, it’s phenomenally successful…

So why on earth would they market it like this?

So, I decided to record a narration of my own and using the old iPhone ad music, I decided to voice what Apple are really saying(!) with their new ad campaign. Enjoy!

it was cool except there was no editing good stuff

    • Matt:

True. I didn’t feel the need to edit the video as I could talk about what was on the screen, just adding my own version of what I felt Apple were really saying.

  • [...] I was able to do, by releasing videos where I was the featured voice. An example of this was my iPhone ad parody, which I posted to [...]

  • Completely true Matt, the Apple guys should have conducted a poll before airing it on TV. I’ve always been an Apple fan but I do find some of their ads quite meaningless. It was a pleasure reading this post and I’ll look forward to come across more such interesting and creative post.

    • Matt:

      Haha, thanks Audrey!

Yeah, I just found it so congratulatory that I had to make a point of doing a parody. Truth is, I’ve only really promoted them more, but hey, I get to be more creative than the average blog post for 5 minutes!

      Matt
