Fast Product Creation – How To Create Awesome Products Quickly, Easily and For Little Or No Money

One of the crucial messages that came out of the Clickbank Millionaire Masterclass that I attended at the end of June, was that in order to get the consistent, steady income that we all seek, one needs to have one’s own products.

This makes perfect sense, as when you start creating and selling products, you are building assets which work for you and put money in your pocket with relatively little effort after that original creation.

Product creation can be pretty daunting for many people, particularly those who feel like they don’t have enough expertise in the field or technical knowledge to put together a great product.

With this in mind, Mark Anastasi put together a presentation which showed people how to create products relatively easily and economically. It’s a good lesson in the skills needed to create products online, but it also shows how the really good marketers think, particularly when you look at copywriter Brett McFall’s method of making $4000 from an e-book (which I’ll be revealing later in the week)! Massive leverage is the name of the game.

So, let’s get started…

‘Where Do I Find Valuable Content?’

This is the major question that people pose when they’re looking to serve a niche market. Incidentally, the word ‘serve’ is important in that last sentence. Setting out with the mindset of service and abundance, rather than with the mindset of selling just to make money, is going to make you much more money in the long term and make far more people warm to you.

Mark gave us a few good sources for finding good content which can be adapted from ready-made PLR (private label rights) material. This means you can but these packs and then modify the content, re-package it and sell it to your prospects.

Talk To The Experts

While e-books are excellent, the products that have a higher perceived value are those that have an audio and video element to them.

Creating audio is far easier and cheaper than you might think.

You can interview experts in your field and record that interview. And just like that, you have a saleable product that the market will be interested in (because the person is an expert in that field). So, what tools do you need?

  • Skype (free) – http://www.skype.com
  • Callburner (to record the call and turn it into an MP3) – http://www.callburner.com/
  • You could also use PowerGramo (http://www.powergramo.com/) to record the call.

That’s it. Get Skype, set it up with Callburner or PowerGramo and then call the person you want to talk to. Hit the record button and then ask them all the questions your market wants to know.

And here’s an additional tip from me on this: Once you’ve recorded the call, think about getting it transcribed by a transcription service, either on Elance.com or by searching for ‘transcription services’ on Google. When you get the transcript back, either edit it or send it to an editor to turn it into an e-book or report. That’s two products you’ve created, yet you’ve only done the content creation once.

‘How Do I Know What My Market Wants?’

This may sound like a flippant answer but here goes:

‘Ask them!’

By asking your market what it wants, you’ll be able to create targeted products that people actually want to buy. Now, I already know what you’re next thought is:

‘OK, smart arse, how do I find them and ask the questions?’

Good question. The answer lies in a few places. One of the best places online to find this sort of information is on forums. For example, in internet marketing terms, The Warrior Forum is one of the foremost places to find out what the internet marketers want and what problems they face.

No matter what market you’re in, there is more than likely to be a forum about it online. Simply go to Google (other search engines are available :) ) and type in:

‘KEYWORDS forum’

…replacing KEYWORDS with your search term, whatever that might be.

Another good way of finding out what people want is to put together a short survey and drive traffic to it using Adwords or a similar PPC (Pay Per Click) campaign.

You can got to http://www.surveymonkey.com/ and write your survey. When you put it online, you can offer people a free copy of the resulting product in exchange for them taking 5 minutes to complete your questionnaire.

Run the campaign until you get at least 100 clicks and see how many people return the questionnaire. If no one does, you might need to re-evaluate the market. If they do, see what they want (what info are they looking for? what format do they prefer?).

When thinking of the questions, try to keep them open ended so that they actually have to write something. If you don’t do this, there’s a danger that you might try to lead them to what you want to give them rather than listening to what they actually want.

Once you’ve done this and got some answers, you’ll be in a much better position to ask those questions of the experts, then turn the recording into a downloadable e-book and audio combo, which the market will value and be prepared to pay for.

Job Done!
