Blog Commenting – How To Get Your Comments Noticed With This Free Tool
Just a quick ‘cool tool’ for you today. This is an excellent and very simple tool, whether you’re a blogger or just a blog commenter.
As you may know, blog commenting is a great way to get a little bit of traffic from other blogs, but also to build backlinks to your site from other related authority sites.
I always saw that some of the commenters on blogs had a photo (avatar) next to their comment. It made them more engaging and made them seem more transparent. Also, the fact that they have a photo when most commenters don’t, makes them look more professional. All of this makes me want to find out more about them, especially if they look approachable.
A good comment that adds to the discussion on a blog, plus a good photo, is a far more effective way of commenting on blogs and having your comments approved. If you can be one of the first to comment, you get the chance to feature your own site, photo and words of wisdom directly beneath the article.
I’ve been applying this to my site and it’s starting to add to my traffic.
Here’s how to get the photo to appear on your comments automatically, no matter whether you’re registered with the site or not:

That’s a good point. People definitely feel they know you a little more when they see a photo. It makes your words come to life a bit.
Also, if they see your photo a few times on various blogs, and you write good, thoughtful comments then they’ll start to zoom in on your posts when they see your avatar on other comment threads.
That would definitely help build credibility, as well as increase the number of click-throughs to your site.
Hey Matt,
That’s a good point about building credibility across blogs. I’ve been doing this on authority blogs in the internet marketing world and it’s certainly helping.
Does that mean you’re going to get a pic for your comments now?
Matt
Hi Matt
Unfortunately the vide has been trashed by You Tube. Thought you might like to know.
back on the subject, having a Gravater, even if it’s one of the cartoony type one’s, carries your image on blog comments.
many bloggers are wary of connecting with those comments without a pic, because they may be spammers, who rarely have an avatar.
It’s quick free investment of a little time, which you can take with you to many other locations, such as forums and article directories.
All this helps with ‘building the brand’, and making you more approachable.
Even if you’re an ugly, like me.
Cheers
Alan
PS. Add CommentLuv, and you’ll make your commeneters even happier (suggestion).

Hey Matt! That’s right. Video is no longer available. How come?
Hey Ken,
